honestly I prefer a contest account than a demo account in addition to practice we can also get a prize in the form of free capital for trading but choose a contest account that uses a demo account

if you are able to use both you should be able to use both because demo account is good to learn technique but for contest account it is good to test our technique which we have trained on demo account so both are good

It seems more challenging if you use a Contest account, because there are prizes that can be contested, but the risk is just as zero like a demo account

both are equally good what is important is how you secure capital to practice on a demo account or on a contest account, but most of what I know is that more people use a demo account than a contest account because the contest account can't actually test psychologically well but the good thing is when we win we will get a prize
