Using a mentor is indeed better, it is recommended to use a mentor, but when you don't have money you can be self-taught

Yes you have to be self-taught. You have to be able to learn in a good way so you can use your ability to think without using a mentor.

I didn't use my mentor before, I was just self-taught and didn't have a problem with that.

if you study without a mentor, you should learn first on a demo account and don't use a real account right away.
