For me, OctaFX is a safe, reliable broker that really makes it easy for traders in all aspects. I highly recommend it. OctaFX customer service is also very helpful and responsive, especially when I need technical assistance. Low spreads and no requotes make me comfortable when entering at important moments. I am also very helped by the copy trading feature from OctaFX which makes it easy for beginners to learn from more experienced traders.

I believe OctaFX's move to increase contests is quite an effective strategy, as trading contests have always been one of the most engaging ways to increase user participation. The thought of nearly making the top 20 is certainly frustrating, especially when you get a margin call on the last day. You've worked hard from the start, and you were just a little bit away, but the market turned around. But it's understandable; competitive trading is stressful, especially near the end of the period.

Every trader typically has different preferences regarding a broker's platform, spreads, features, and services. So, if you tried Octa but found it wasn't a good fit, it doesn't necessarily mean the broker is bad; it's more a matter of whether your trading style and personal needs are compatible.

As far as I know, there's no official information stating that Octa has been sold or changed ownership. If a company of that size were to experience a change in ownership, there would typically be a public announcement, legal documents, or a visible change in the company structure.

I believe that information based solely on personal experience doesn't necessarily reflect the broker's actual policies or conditions. While that experience may be valid, it could also be influenced by specific circumstances, procedural errors, or even miscommunication.

I always deposit under $1,000 with each broker, so I have multiple accounts with multiple brokers. This is one way I secure my funds.

Such a strategy is understandable from a risk management perspective. Distributing funds across multiple brokers and keeping balances below $1,000 per account can reduce the risk of problems with one broker, such as withdrawal interruptions, bankruptcy, or account freezes.
