Market movements during news events carry a high level of risk for trading. Spreads widen, leading to slippage. If I'm only pursuing a target of tens of pips, this is a very dangerous way for me to enter the market.

Market movements during major news releases are particularly risky due to the extreme volatility that occurs in a short period of time. Spreads can widen suddenly, even with typically stable brokers. When spreads widen, we not only miss out on potential profits but can also be directly hit by stop-loss orders.
