One feature that I think TradingView should be recognized for is their alerts system. Their alerting feature alone may be well worth the cost of a subscription by itself.

Adjustable Alert Features:

  • Price - set the price you want to trigger an alert.
  • Condition - alert whenever price reached, entering a channel, movement %, and more.
  • Trigger - alert only once or every time the condition is met.
  • Expiration - you have the ability to set a date/time to stop getting any possible alerts.
  • Alert name - simple text you can set for the alert. So many alert indicators out there do not have this adjustable and/or would require code modification to do this. With TradingView, you can do this in seconds. You can set personal text you would easily recognize and act on fast. For example, "Special BTC Bullish Alert".
  • Alert text - you have the ability to set your own alert text with no coding required. You can insert placeholders to represent certain information. For example, whatever the price or time is at the time of the alert can be inserted into your alert text. There are more placeholders available too. For example, you could create an alert that says "Current BTC price is now 26800 and the volume is 1000". The current values for price and time in this example will be dynamically inserted in place of your placeholders. This simple feature alone can save so much in coding fees compared to other trading platforms.

Alert types:

  • In app notifications to your phone.
  • Popups
  • Email alerts
  • Sound alerts
  • Webhook URL
  • SMS

Another benefit TradingView offers is their free screener. No registration is even required to use this.

The Tradingview screener is available for Forex, Stocks, and Crypto.

With the free screener, you can quickly find trading opportunities. For example, let's say you want to find overbought symbols based on a combination of RSI and Williams Percent Range, but filter out anything else. You can do that easily. Or let's say you want to only see symbols which have performed more than a certain % for the week and also above a specific moving average. You can do this. There are many possibilities. The TradingView screener will display all symbols in a list which meet your criteria.
