I always believe that using stop loss will make you more comfortable because you are no longer afraid. You will not be haunted by guilt about trading.

Stop loss and take profit are both equally important, and both aim to limit the target and if you have reached the target, then you have enough to trade.

I feel that using stop loss is indeed the most effective to use as a safeguard for us. Open positions without using stop loss we will always be exposed to floating minus which will actually harm us when we cut loss.
