Of course there are scam brokers out there, but I see the problem you're talking about quite a lot where an inexperienced trader blames the broker. A lot of them find it easier to just put the blame there and walk away from trading, rather than to admit they blew their own account from lack of experience or making avoidable mistakes. I'd say it being the broker's fault typically happens more when traders try to make withdrawals and then the broker doesn't want to issue them, but that isn't an issue for reputable companies.
