I don't think it's just a daily target, but a weekly target and a monthly target as well.

if I think the advantage of having a daily target is that it can make our trading disciplined and also if the trader has a daily target then the trader will not force to enter the market continuously. I personally also have daily targets when trading. and if my daily target is met then I will decide not to enter the market again and decide to continue trading again the next day so I can be consistent.
