There are 2 types of traders, first traders who like and look for sideway market conditions for trading and second traders who tend to avoid sideway conditions

Avoid and use sideways market conditions, based on the type of trading style.
There is nothing wrong with trading on sideways markers as long as you know the trading style / method.

The sideways market indeed make boring, trading on flat condition is time-consuming, because waiting the price move 1 pip sometimes felt so long time, but trading in high volatility also risky, just the fun is trading in high volatility can easily reach target.

Sideways market is not always to be avoided, there are good entry moments too.

Yes, the sideways market is very difficult to make profit, although possible to make money from small movement if choose to pair with low spread and work accordingly with the trend movement, sideways here in range movement where the prices move on certain range up and down
