the difference between technical analysis and fundamental analysis:
1. Technical analysis monitors price movements, while fundamental analysis monitors factors outside of the price itself which are considered to be able to influence its movements.
2. Fundamental analysis is a long-term approach. This can be concluded considering that fundamental economic data is released on a weekly basis, some even being published monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and annually. On the other hand, technical analysis can be used on various timeframes, from minutes to weeks and months.
3. Technical analysis is usually used in the short term with the aim of "trading", while fundamental analysis is for the long term with the purpose of investing ("investing").
There are often disputes between users of technical analysis and fundamental analysis about which is better between the two.
However, in fact the majority of traders combine technical and fundamental in forex analysis.
When combined, fundamental analysis can provide a more comprehensive picture of the background of price movements in the long term,
while technical analysis presents trading opportunities where traders can open or close profitable trading positions.
