Over Half of South Koreans Think Cryptocurrencies Are a Form of Gambling

A survey conducted jointly by the "World Daily" and research firm Embrain, spanning from August 3rd to August 8th, gathered insights from 1,000 individuals in South Korea regarding cryptocurrency-related matters.

The survey unveiled that more than half (53.2%) of the respondents believe that investing in cryptocurrencies is akin to gambling. This perspective stems from their belief that most tokens lack tangible real-world assets to back them. Approximately 20% of the respondents expressed caution regarding speculative behavior, while 16% voiced concerns about price manipulation. Furthermore, 5% indicated apprehensions regarding weak regulatory oversight by financial authorities over tokens.
