DePIN has always been dominating with projects that reward people for contributing real-world resources like storage or network capacity. It was an interesting shift because the network grows through a distributed community instead of relying on centralized infrastructures only.
Many of us already know the likes of Filecoin, Roam and Nodepay but I recently came across DoubleZero (2Z), a community-powered fiber network where contributors provide private fiber links while being rewarded with its Solana-based token which has listed on Bitget with a Candybomb and Community campaign.
It got me thinking, if DePINs really take off, could they become as important in crypto the same way cloud providers became important for Web2 ?
