for responsibility capital of 1000 $ then you should use a maximum lot of 0.1 to have extra resilience and still be able to open a position, if trading style only makes 1-2 transactions, the lot is very good.

I can't be sure because I myself have never used a capital of $ 1000, but if you look at it maybe I think using 0.1 lots is still safe depending on your risk

If you have capital $1000 then using 0.1 lot size it still reasonable risk management, however we can split the position to smallest lot size like 0.01 for ten trading position.
