Follow trend or buy at cheaper - sell at higher

What is better to trade according to the trend, or on the principle of buy at cheaper - sell at higher?
I think, that you can trade with the trend, you can trade with the principle of buy at cheaper - sell at higher. These are just ways to make a profit. They are the weapons of the trader. They cannot be made the guiding principle for decision-making and the only trading method. After all, the soldier does not wonder how to decrease the enemy - by a bullet or a bayonet.
The skill of the trader is the higher, the more methods he has for profit. Moreover, these methods must be perfected.
Much more important for the trader is his analytical ability and  psychological stability.

Although it must be admitted that many people prefer to work with only one method. Station wagons are rare. Some follow the trend, some try to catch the turning points and make money on the U-turns. It all depends on the individual trader.
The main danger here is that the trader, instead of a sober analysis of the situation, begins to look for opportunities, often illusory, for the transaction. This is an unreasonable approach. Any attachment makes the trader weaker, so limit his ability to think freely and make decisions with a cold head
