My starting balance at the time of this post is $2563.06. I actually had a winning trade while posting this. So I will be including that as well. See attachments.

Strategy: I will be using a combination of trend lines, support/resistance, and some indicators available on this forum such as the FEN indicator, Gann Time Clusters, and possibly some more.

Entries: I sometimes use pending orders and sometimes market orders. It depends on when I see a good trade set up and my availability. I will also use an averaging in method. So if price goes against my trade(s), I will open another trade in the same direction to get a better overall combined price. Any unfilled pending orders will be deleted after profit is reached.

Exits: I usually will set a set TP. I usually do not set a SL. This is just my personal style. That may be too risky for many traders, but that's fine. I will not be setting a SL for the following reasons:

  • I do not have to worry about getting stopped out of an otherwise great trade. Forex is volatile and many times a SL will be barely hit and then price goes on in the right direction afterwards.
  • This is money I can afford to lose. I will not lose any sleep over margin calls, if any. I am trading with pure profit from previous trading activity after withdrawing my initial deposit amounts.
  • I am trading with an account with low leverage. So even if my trades are liquidated after a margin call, there will still be money left in the account for future trading.

Broker: I will be using Oanda with 50:1 leverage and the FIFO rule enforced.

I made another trade for USDJPY on Nov. 27 which resulted in 20 pips gained and $43 profit.

There was a trend line on the Daily which I set a pending sell limit for. I had a 2nd pending order set higher in case the trend line was breached. That was set at a good resistance point. If filled, I would have averaged in, but the 2nd pending order never filled. The TP was later hit as planned.

I saw another good set up on AUDUSD on Nov. 28.

AUDUSD shot up really fast. When this happens, many times the market has over-reacted and it will correct. So I sold at a high price. I then placed a pending order above at a good resistance point in case the market continued to be bullish. It did continue to be bullish and my 2nd pending order triggered later. So I averaged in price this way. The market ended up reversing and my trades ended up hitting TP as shown.

Total profit made was +$79.75

I've made some good trades on the USDJPY recently. Here is one that I would consider. There is a trend line on the Daily TF that has been hit many times. It will most likely act like a magnet and be tested again. You might want to place a sell at a resistance point and take profit at the trend line. Also, you could wait for price to get to the trend line and then place a buy at a support point in anticipation of another bounce. There are a few ways this could be traded actually.

I made another trade on USDCHF. A weekly trend line has been broke and price has remained above the line and has retested the line. So I am only looking to place buy trades on USDCHF for a while.

I placed a buy trade after a small dip in price. In case price continued down more, I had another buy trade at a support point. The pending order never filled and my original trade hit TP.

Profit was +$21.75 and I will be placing more buy trades in the near future too.

Price broke and closed above a daily trend line on the EURJPY. So I will only be placing buy trades for a while. I set 2 pending buy limit orders in hopes that price would dip. Both orders were filled.

These trades were placed on Friday and were kept open over the weekend because I was confident price would become bullish. I was right and EURJPY actually opened much above last week's closing price. There is a large gap in price in my favor. I expect EURJPY to dip down once again to fill the gap, so I closed the trades out early instead of letting them hit TP. I will most likely enter more EURJPY buy trades in the near future.

Profit was about $91.42 for these 2 trades.

Note: Oanda performed an account migration over the weekend. This is why the trades show as being opened on Dec. 01 which is a Saturday. They actually opened before this date.

I placed more buy trades based on the same outlook as before. I set buy limit orders in case price dipped. Both were filled. I saw that EURJPY was falling hard so I manually closed them later for a loss. I wanted price to dip some more and then I was going to re-enter a larger buy order at a better price, which I did for 0.55 lots. I closed that one early for a small profit because I saw a sell set up in the more short term and I expect price to become bearish again. I will re-access the market situation for the buy side at a later time.

The loss for the 3 trades mentioned above was -$149.93

Sometimes there are losses. What matters is if we can make up for the losses later and have overall profit. Thanks for sharing.

The EURJPY did become bearish soon after my last post as I thought it would. I had a sell open and another sell limit which did not trigger. My TP was later hit.

Profit made was +$58.07
