Exotic currency pair is characterized by low liquidity and low interest from traders other than the country concerned. The central bank dominates the market and makes it very stable - not a good thing for trading.
EUR / CHF
Euro (EUR) is an EU currency; but Switzerland doesn't use it. They have their own currency, Swiss Franc (CHF), which is used as an asylum. But when traded, it doesn't really work.
The main problem with EUR / CHF is a long period of stability followed by a sudden jump in value. Some EUR / CHF trading can take place for a monthly period that suddenly closes with a difference of 2,000 pips. Lately the situation has improved with the involvement of EUR in Brexit, which brings the necessary market volatility.
Overall, EUR / CHF is not suitable for scalping and other short-term high volatility strategies. The Price Action pattern does not really apply to both because the pattern on the weekly and monthly timeframes is far less clear.
At present, there is no single method recommended for trading EUR / CHF. So far the most likely thing to do is trend-based trading - following the new trend and closing the trade before the trend ends. This is not a profitable move and is certainly risky, but if you want to trade EUR / CHF, that's the only reliable solution.
